Lancaster VC by Graeme Lothian.
Lancasters of 61 Squadron head out for the enemy coast during the night of 3rd November 1943. Seen in the lead Lancaster is Flt Lt Bill Reid flying QR-O. After sustaining two heavy attacks by enemy night fighters, killing two crew members and injuring Reid in the head, shoulders and hands. He carried on to the target, dropping accurately his bomb load. Navigating back by Pole Star and Moon, he lost consciousness on occasions due to blood loss. He managed to find his way Shipdharn. Upon landing the undercarriage collapsed but luckily did not catch fire. For his exploits that night he was awarded the Victoria Cross.

Last Long Shadow by Anthony Saunders.
Lancaster CF-X (LM384) of 625 Squadron. On the Leipzig raid on the evening of 19th/20th February 1944 approx 47 Lancasters were shot down or failed to return, that is over 300 airmen. Lancaster CF-X (LM384) was taking part in the bombing raids that were a build up to the D-Day landings of June 1944. Leipzig was seen as a high value target due to its oil and synthetic fuel production. The Lancaster took off from Kelstern in Lincolnshire just before midnight. Unfortunately LM384 did not come back as was the case with many others - the aircraft was lost and crashed just outside the tiny village of Bledeln in Germany. The Pastor of the village, Herr Duncker, kept a diary throughout the war and has an account of the plane crash and the subsequent burial of the crew. All of the crew died in the crash except one - bomb aimer George Paterson who was interned in Stalag 357 Kopernikus. The rest of the crew were given a Christian burial and stayed there until the end of the war, when the war graves commission disinterred the crew and reburied them in the Hannover war cemetery.

Chadwicks Masterpiece by Ivan Berryman.
When Roy Chadwick first drew the Avro 679 Manchester bomber for the RAF, he could little have known that from this rather lacklustre machine would evolve the classic 683 Lancaster. This painting is not a record of any single event in the Lancasters illustrious history, rather a portrait of a fine aeroplane and a tribute to the many crews who flew and serviced them.

The Long Journey Home by Adrian Rigby.
The Avro lancatser, the backbone of the Royal Air Force Bomber Command during world war two. The Avro Lancaster was a development from the Avro Manchester, and with its four Rolls Royce Merlin engines it was able to carry a substantial bomb load. The Lancaster entered service in 1942, with 44 Squadron based at RAF Waddington and 97 Squadron based at RAF Woodhall Spa. Superior range and payload capability meant the Lancaster was able to strike at the heart of Germany and the factories of their war machine.

Bombing Up Yorker by Robin Smith.
This print depicts a Lancaster Mk.III powered by four Merlin engines. Assigned to 44 (Rhodesia) squadron on 5th February 1944 to Dunholme Lodge, KM (Yorker) ND 578 was flown by P.O. John Chatterton on its first fifteen operations after which he received the D.F.C. In fact the whole crew received the D.F.C after their tour, this being very unusual during the war, a gesture reflecting the heroism of the equally brave crew. Y-Yorker completed its 100th sortie in February 1945 with F.O. Hayler as skipper, surviving to complete its 123rd operation by 17/18th April with Harold Parkin in the driving seat, by this time stationed at Spilsby. The significance of the spade nose art reflects to the fact that John Chatterton was a farmer, a career that continued after the war, and became his logo. Unfortunately, his commander didnt approve of it, and it only lasted one week before it had to come off!
Limited edition of 500 prints. Image size 21.5 inches x 13.5 inches (55cm x 35cm). Price £135.00 Signed by Plt Of John Chatterston DFC 1st Pilot, and Flg Of Harold Parkin, last pilot of Yorker.

Inbound by Stephen Brown.
The magnificent Avro Lancasters bathed in early morning light as they return home from a successful raid during the summer of 1944. The Lancaster was undoubtedly Bomber Commands finest and most important aircraft of WW2. Loved by its crews for its responsiveness, agility, reliability and payload capacity, but probably most of all its ability to absorb major combat damage and still get them home safely.

Mynarskis Lanc by Nicolas Trudgian.
Lancaster V-RA, with its young Canadian crew, flew just a handful of operations. On the night of June 12, 1944, it was set afire by a JU88, forcing the crew to bale out. Seeing the rear gunner trapped Pilot Officer Andrew Mynarski vainly braved the inferno to help, losing his parachute to the flames. He was forced to jump without it. Miraculously the burning Lancaster pancaked, and the rear gunner survived. Andrew Mynarski was awarded the Victoria Cross posthumously. Mynarskis Lancaster is depicted setting out on that fateful night. Four of the crew members: Brophy, navigator Robert Bodie, radio operator James Kelly and pilot de Breyne were hidden by the French and, except for Brophy, returned to England shortly after the crash. Vigars and the wounded bomb aimer Friday were captured by the Germans and interned until they could be liberated by American troops. Pat Brophy joined French Resistance fighters and, after waging war on the ground behind enemy lines, made it back to London in September, 1944 where he learned of Mynarskis death. It was not until 1945 when Pat Brophy was reunited with Art de Breyne and the rest of the crew, that the details of his final moments on the aircraft were revealed. He related the story of the valiant efforts made by Mynarski to save him.
